According to Seebeck effect , the thermal electromagnetic force will be generated when a pair of different metallic wires were left with different temperatures.  If user can fix or confirm the temperature at one end of the two, the actual temperature of the the other end can be calculated by measured thermal electromagnetic force.  This is the most efficient and precise way to measure the temperature of high-temperature environment. Different types of thermocouples

    According to different measurement scenarios and criteria, there are several major categories of thermocouples:

1.                          Reference Thermocouple :  This kind of thermocouples are applied to measure the temperature in the chamber of  Diffusion Furnace or CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition)  This type of thermocouples can proceed three-point or five-point measurement with different requirements

2.                          Spike Thermocouple : These thermocouples will be used for temperature controlling process to adjust the chamber temperature  Diffusion Furnace) or CVD ( Chemical Vapor Deposition)

3.                          Covered Thermocouple

The build-up of thermocouple:

1.          The thermocouple wire:  For different temperature measurement ranges, different measurement circumstances and different measurement considerations,  There are many different metals or alloys are considered as the material used to build the thermocouple.  GTI and Furuya Metals are capable to work with our customers and find out the best choice for each application.

2.          The insulating tube :  The application of thermocouple measurement is usually under extreme environment (extra high or extra low temperature!).  The insulating tube can protect the wire made by precious metals or alloys then extend the lifetime of thermocouples.

3.          The protecting tube : This tube will be applied to overlap the whole thermocouple assembly to avoid any damage from equipment malfunction or mis-operation.  Also , protect the whole thermocouple assembly.

4.          The compensation wire : This extension wire connects the wire made by precious metals or alloys and the connectors used to measure the thermal electromotive force measurement equipment.  Its major function is compensating or correct any temperature variance or error generated by thermocouple end points.
